Enerit shortlisted for Sustainable Energy Awards

Enerit is the first company in the world to provide comprehensive software for large energy users to implement the ISO 50001 standard in energy management. This innovation has resulted in Enerit being shortlisted for the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland’s (SEAI) ninth annual Sustainable Energy Awards.

The annual Sustainable Energy Awards are intended to encourage, recognize and reward excellence in energy management in the industrial, commercial, community and public sectors. Enerit is shortlisted for the Sustainable Energy Innovation Award which recognizes pioneering activity in practical sustainable energy in Ireland. Other companies shortlisted for this category include Diageo (Guinness Ireland), Dawn Meats and Tesco.

Significant energy reductions can be achieved by an organization implementing ISO 50001 using Enerit software. For the awards Enerit presented University College Cork’s successful certification to ISO 50001 as an excellent example of the software’s capability. UCC was the first public sector body in Ireland and the first university worldwide to be certified to the new ISO 50001 standard with the help of Enerit ISO 50001 software. This feat was achieved in just 3 months.

The winner will be announced at a gala event in Dublin on the 22nd of November 2012. Enerit are delighted to have been shortlisted alongside other great innovative projects by leading organizations in reducing energy consumption.
