Enerit COO Mike Brogan will be presenting “Ireland’s experience in implementing ISO 50001” at the “BS EN 50001:2012” workshop which will take place on July 5th in London.
Organized by the British Standards Institute, it is a one day free event. The workshop aims to enable organizations to;
- Understand the role that ISO 50001 can play in improving their organizations energy efficiency
- Discover the steps involved in implementing the ISO 50001 standard
- Hear from a number of organizations about their experiences in implementing the standard
- Have their questions answered by energy management experts
- Understand how to make the transition from BS EN 16001 and ISO 50001
Trevor Hutchings, Head of Strategy and Delivery at the Energy Effciency Deployment Office will deliver a keynote speech entitled “The potential for greater energy efficiency across the UK economy“.
Enerit COO Mike Brogan will be providing an outside perspective on ISO 50001 through presenting “Ireland’s experience in implementing ISO 50001″. This presentation will look at the various Government led policies and programmes which are guiding and supporting Irish based organizations in their uptake and implementation of the standard.
The strong commitment to energy management that exists within Irish industry and how it has resulted in Ireland gaining invaluable expertise in the area of energy management systems and standards. Knowledge acquired due to continuous R&D, since the introduction of the very first Irish energy management standard I.S. 393 in 2005
Finally this presentation will take a look at practical examples of Irish companies whom have successfully implemented ISO 50001 and the deeper innovation in energy management that is sure to follow in the future.
Overall the workshop will involve a comprehensive introduction to BS EN 50001 with presentations such as an “Overview of an effective ISO 50001 system” from Trevor Floyd, Principal consultant, Tenby Consultancy Group. There will also be presentations from UK companies who have implemented BS EN ISO 50001. These presentations aim to highlight the benefits that these companies are reaping as a result of implementation, including cost savings, reductions in carbon emissions and overall improved corporate images.
Coca Cola, Camfil Farr and Southbank University are just some examples of the types of organizations whom will be presenting at the workshop on their experiences with implementing the standard. Questions and answers will follow each presentation followed by round table discussions.
The event will take place on July 5th 2012 and will run from 9:30 to 16:30 pm GMT. Attendance is free for all attendees, registration is required however due to demand.
