On Wednesday the 9th of January 2013, Enerit Ltd was invited to participate in a showcase of 19 innovative Irish companies arranged by Enterprise Ireland for the EU Presidency press visit to Ireland.
“This was a unique opportunity to demonstrate the incredible level of innovation and technology coming out of Irish companies with the help of Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) and European Space Agency funding.” says Frank Ryan, CEO of Enterprise Ireland.
Enerit Ltd more specifically was invited to the event to highlight to members of the European Press its innovative Enerit ISO 50001 software and the software’s deployment within two leading edge EU Projects namely CASCADE and VERYSchool.
CASCADE, led by the prestigious Fraunhofer Institute, Europe’s largest application-oriented research organization, provides a number of technology-based solutions for airports to reduce energy use in systems such as refrigeration, lighting, under-floor heating, HVAC, etc. Within this project, Enerit ISO 50001 software is being installed at Milan Malpensa Airport and Rome Fiumicino Airport.
VERYSchool focuses on energy efficient schools. Led by Italian Energy Agency Agenzia per l’Energia e lo Svilluppo Sostenibile (AESS), VERYSchool will integrate smart LED lighting, smart metering, BEMS, energy simulation and energy action management software into a platform called the Energy Action Navigator and demonstrate it in four Pilot locations in Italy, Portugal and Bulgaria. Enerit’s software will provide a systematic energy management approach based on ISO 50001 principles, configured specifically to meet the energy efficiency requirements of schools.
The Presidency of the Council of the EU rotates among Member States every six months. Ireland will hold the Presidency for the 7th time from January to June 2013. During this time Ireland as the presiding Member State will advance the Union’s ongoing work agenda, and has the opportunity to shape and influence EU policy and legislation. The Presidency also represents the Council in its dealings with other EU Institutions. Source: EU Presidency Ireland 2013.
